DENVER—Denver Public Schools are standing by security guards who used pepper spray on a belligerent father during a youth football game.
The incident happened Saturday when Jackie Pollard confronted the unidentified coach at George Washington High School. The father told KCNC-TV that he was arguing with the coach but was leaving when a guard approached him. Pollard says he was tackled by that and another guard when he refused to stop.
A Denver Public Schools spokesman said the security guards acted properly and that one was briefly hospitalized for a knee injury after the incident. Pollard faces a distrubing-the-peace charge and says he would apologize to the coach.
