MINEOLA, N.Y. — A former high school teacher in New York has been rearrested a day after being sentenced for having a long-running affair with a 16-year-old student.
Heather Kennedy was released on $15,000 bail after her arraignment Saturday on criminal contempt charges.
A Nassau County prosecutors’ spokesman says the new charges reflect letters Kennedy wrote to the boy in August and September, while jailed on earlier charges stemming from their relationship. A court had ordered her to avoid contact with him.
