ORCHARD MESA, Colo.—A 1-year-old girl was critically hurt when a sport-utility vehicle backed over her.
Colorado State Patrol Cpl. Ryan Parker says the accident happened about 7 p.m. Saturday. A group of adults had finished working on the vehicle in a garage when one of the men backed the SUV out onto a gravel driveway, running over the girl. Three other adults, including the girl’s mother, were present at the time.
Sgt. John Hahn Sunday morning said the girl’s grandfather, 50-year-old Anthony Woods, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, vehicular assault and careless driving. Hahn said the girl—whose name was not released—was in critical condition.
