Two Colorado State women’s basketball recruits led high school teams to state championships Saturday.

Chantel Kennedy, a 5-foot-7 guard, contributed nine points and six rebounds to help lead Wesleyan School of Norcross, Ga., to its sixth state title since 2001-02.

Meixandra Porter, a 5-6 guard, scored 18 points while directing Freedom High of South Riding, Va., to her state’s AA Division 3 championship.

CSU-Pueblo hires Symington.

CSU-Pueblo football coach John Wristen on Monday hired former Eastern Michigan offensive line coach Chris Symington for the same position with the ThunderWolves.

Symington, a former University of Colorado offensive lineman, was at Eastern Michigan from 2003-08 and also coached at Tennessee State (2000-03), Western Kentucky (1996-99) and Vanderbilt (1990-94).
