If you’re the type who’ll miss the winter weather only for its hearty seasonal beers, Grand Teton has a new release whose spring availability will make you happy. Double Vision reminds of an imperial stout with its viscosity, meaty light-brown head and almost opaque dark-brown color. The aroma is redolent of dark grains and caramel malts, a bold promise fulfilled on the tongue in a molasseslike richness capped with a wisp of chocolate. Strong body gives this lager a filling mouthfeel, and light carbonation imparts a quenching drinkability. Alcohol by volume of 8 percent puts this meal-in-a-glass right in the middle of the doppelbock category.
