The Colorado Mammoth said Friday that defenseman Bruce Murray will miss the remainder of the 2009 season with a knee injury suffered in last Saturday’s game. He has a torn tendon and will have surgery Monday.

Eagles clinch Cup.

The Colorado Eagles clinched their third Governor’s Cup as regular-season champions of the Central Hockey League, despite losing 6-4 to the Rapid City Rush. The Eagles clinched when Mississippi lost to Bossier-Shreveport.

Wyoming’s LeBlanc grapples on.

Top-seeded Jake Herbert of Northwestern, a defending national champion, beat Wyoming’s Joe LeBlanc in a 184-pound quarterfinal at the the NCAA Division I wrestling championships in St. Louis. Herbert earned an 18-5 decision.

LeBlanc came back with a win Friday night, defeating No. 10 seed Chris Honeycutt of Edinboro 7-2. LeBlanc can do no worse than sixth place.

DU swimmer Lowry finishes 27th.

University of Denver’s Michele Lowry earned a 27th-place finish in the 400 individual medley at the NCAA women’s swimming and diving championships in College Station, Texas. She finished in 4 minutes, 13.40 seconds.
