FORT COLLINS, Colo.—The Colorado State Patrol has identified two people killed when they were thrown from the motorcycle they were riding near Fort Collins.
Patrol spokesman Ryan Sullivan says 25-year-old Joseph Reed of Fort Collins and 24-year-old Shallie Reed of Thornton died Sunday morning after Joseph Reed lost control of the motorcycle at a high rate of speed near a curve.
Authorities say neither rider was wearing a helmet. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
The relationship between the riders, if any, was not immediately clear.
Sullivan says alcohol or drugs are suspected as contributing factors in the crash.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan cites court records in reporting in Tuesday’s editions that Joseph Reed had been convicted of numerous driving offenses.
