• Because of an editing error, a graphic box that appeared on Page 1B on Tuesday had incorrect information about the federal tobacco excise tax that takes effect April 1. The tax on a package of cigarettes will increase 61 cents. The tax on a carton of cigarettes will increase $6.10. The tax on a pound of rolling tobacco will increase $23.68.
