Three local entrepreneurs purchased advertising agency Karsh & Hagan from Omnicom Group, a move that places the firm back under local ownership. Karsh & Hagan was purchased by Pocky Marranzino, Keith Roberts and Kathy Hagan.
“Strategically, it was the right time to move away from Omnicom,” Marranzino said. “We’ve moved to providing brand solutions that meet the needs of today’s consumer, including digital, mobile, along with more traditional advertising strategies like print, outdoor and broadcast.”
The agency is now a media-arts firm, the owners say, focusing on audience planning and connecting clients to consumers in a way that matches their lifestyles.
Marranzino is past president of the company and becomes co-president. Roberts was formerly with the company and will serve as chief financial officer and vice president of finance. Hagan, daughter of co-founder Thomas Hagan, will be co-president.
The firm was founded in 1977 by Phil Karsh and Thomas Hagan. Last year’s billings were $35 million, and clients include American Crew and TD Ameritrade. It was sold to Omnicom in 1999. Elizabeth Aguilera, The Denver Post
