WELLINGTON, Colo.—Police are investigating the death of a 1-year-old Wellington boy after 911 dispatchers received a call reporting the boy was unresponsive and not breathing.
Officials say Larimer County sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel responded to the call Monday night.
Workers tried to revive the child before he was transported by helicopter to the Medical Center of the Rockies, where doctors pronounced him dead. His name hasn’t been released.
Larimer County sheriff’s deputies say the cause of death is unknown but they found no obvious signs of trauma. An autopsy is planned.
Investigators say they are interviewing family members and other witnesses. They say family members are cooperating.
