BRIGHTON, Colo.—A 25-year-old Adams County jail inmate has died after hanging himself.
Sheriff’s officials say Kevin Albert Martin of Thornton was found hanging in his cell during a routine check on Saturday. Authorities say Martin did not have a cell mate.
Martin was taken to a hospital, where he died Tuesday.
Thornton police arrested him Feb. 24 on outstanding warrants, including criminal mischief, domestic violence, felony theft and third-degree assault. He was also jailed for contempt of court related to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was being held on $17,250 bond.
