Most city and county of Denver offices will close Friday because of the previously announced unpaid furlough day for city employees.
City offices also will be closed Monday for Cesar Chávez Day.
The Friday furlough day will help save the city about $1 million and help close a projected $56 million budget gap this year. The Denver district attorney’s office will remain open along with agencies that operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week such as Denver International Airport and the Denver sheriff, police and fire departments.
