FORT MORGAN, Colo.—A 23-year-old woman whose baby drowned in a bathtub in July in Log Lane Village, east of Fort Morgan, has pleaded guilty to reckless manslaughter.
Amanda Holbert entered her plea this week in Morgan County District Court. The plea agreement calls for dismissal of a charge of negligent child abuse causing death.
Judge Kevin Hoyer told Holbert she could be considered for probation but that he wasn’t promising it. Sentencing is scheduled for May 19.
Holbert’s 9-month-old son, Isaiah Perez, died July 27. Law enforcement officials say he drowned while Holbert was on the phone.
