One mobile home was destroyed by fire this morning in the 8600 block of Zuni Street in Westminster, according to Diana Allen, spokeswoman for the Westminster Fire Department.

She said the fire department has one ladder truck, two engines and two ambulances at the scene.

She said the fire was called in at 9:26 a.m.

She said crews at the scene, who were initially hampered by water supply problems, were able to save other mobile homes near the destroyed structure.

“It was close, but they got in there and stopped the fire before it spread,” said Allen.

Allen said the water system at the mobile home park is privately owned and is not a part of the Westminster water system. She said the mobile home park was annexed into the city and already had a water system.

Allen said no one was injured although the area around the burning structure was evacuated. The mobile home destroyed was in space 244..

She said the fire, which was out as of 11 a.m., was fought in abysmal conditions. “It is pretty much blizzard conditions in Westminster.”
