FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Larimer County sheriff’s officials say a man wanted on warrants for escape is recovering from being hit by a deputy’s vehicle as he allegedly ran away.

Authorities say 25-year-old Christopher Dominguez was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over for a traffic stop Saturday in Fort Collins. Sheriff’s officials say he ran after giving his name and was struck by a deputy’s vehicle that was responding to the scene.

He was hospitalized with injuries that were not believed to be serious.

Dominguez was wanted on warrants for escape from parole and for escape from a county alternative sentencing unit, where the original charge was for drugs.

Sheriff’s officials and police are investigating the accident.
