The winner: Liane Mattson, Paonia: This scene graces the north wall of the former Paonia Public Library building at Second and Grand in beautiful downtown Paonia. The mural depicts education, showcasing historic schoolhouses to computer labs. We in Paonia are happy to report our new library recently opened for business, about 2 1/2 blocks away. Our 7- year-old daughter, Katya Schwieterman, recognized the mural right away!
