<!--IPTC: (HR)  Competitors get ready for the big snowshoe races. Copper Mountain resort hosted the 31st Annual Special Olympics Colorado Winter Games March 29-30.  Nearly 400 Special Olympics Colorado Athletes from around the state participated in the six sport competition.  The events included alpine skiing, cross country skiing, figure skating, snowboarding, snowshoeing and speed skating. The Colorado snowshoe season’s grand finale returns to Beaver Creek’s McCoy Park on Sunday with the 16th Snowshoe Shuffle benefiting the Shaw Regional Cancer Center in Edwards.

More than 500 participants strapped on the shoes to run/walk in 10K, 5K, 1-mile, Kids K and Dash for Cash events last year. Preregister for $35, or create a team of four or more for $30 a person. On-site registration is $40 until the 11 a.m. start on the day of the event.
