DENVER—Television and film actress Meredith Baxter is urging Coloradans to get cancer screening because patients have more options and survival rates are improving.
Baxter, who survived breast cancer and now supports research, says more than 800 new medicines are being developed that give people hope.
Baxter, who starred in television sitcoms including “Family Ties” as the mother of Michael J. Fox, told a news conference at the state Capitol on Wednesday that almost everyone has a friend or relative who suffered from cancer and early detection is a key to survival.
