COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.—Authorities say a man accused in a weekend slaying in southeastern Colorado Springs has been arrested after taking a bus to Michigan.

Colorado Springs police Lt. David Whitlock says FBI agents in Grand Rapids, Mich., arrested 19-year-old Mark Jonathan Walden on suspicion of first-degree murder Monday.

Walden is accused of shooting 21-year-old Jonathan Frazier multiple times Saturday in a parking lot on Airport Road.

Whitlock says police identified Walden as a suspect and learned that a bus ticket to Michigan had been purchased in the name of one of his relatives, who was in jail.

Authorities in Michigan met the bus and arrested Walden. A detective from Colorado Springs is in Michigan arranging extradition.

Police say Walden also was wanted in Michigan on felony drug charges and violating probation.
