A man was found dead inside a burning motel room this evening on South Broadway in Denver, fire officials said.
The man’s name has not yet been released, but Assistant Fire Chief Greg Champlin said the 50-year-old man rented the room at the Broadway Motel this afternoon and checked in with two other men.
“We don’t know where they are or what’s going on,” he said.
Fire and police investigators were looking into the cause of the blaze and the circumstances, Champlin said.
The fire was reported at about 6:40 p.m. The department has a station nearby and crews were fighting the blaze within three minutes, he said. One unit was gutted and two others damaged in a row that included 10 rooms.
