Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth has completed the purchase of the 14-acre former Children’s Hospital campus near downtown.
The organization, which owns Exempla St. Joseph Hospital, purchased the property from Cherokee Denver about two weeks ago, said Cherokee president Ferd Belz.
St. Joseph plans to build a new facility on the site, between Downing and Emerson streets and between East 20th and East 18th avenues.
