A 20-year-old Colorado Springs man has been arrested as a suspect in the bludgeoning death of his mother.
Christopher Benjamin Weiler is being held in the El Paso County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, Colorado Springs police said in a release.
Weiler was taken into custody without incident at about 1 a.m. Tuesday in Denver, police said, as he was likely heading to a relative’s home.
Weiler lived with his mother, Florence Mina Miller-Weiler, 60, in the 2500 block of Scorpio Drive, police said. Her body was found in the home at about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, police said.
Today, the El Paso County Coroners Office completed an autopsy of Miller-Weiler and ruled the cause of death as blunt-force trauma to the head, and the manner of death as a homicide, police said.
