GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.—Fort Collins is No. 2, and three other Colorado cities made it into the top 25, on the Forbes 2009 list of best big places for business and careers.
Colorado Springs is 10th on the magazine’s list of best large metro areas. Denver is 14th, and Boulder is 20th.
Raleigh, N.C., is No. 1 on the list.
Forbes looked at the 200 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. and considered factors such as colleges, cost of doing business, education attainment and the projected job growth to determine the rankings.
Grand Junction moved up two spots from last year to No. 24 on this year’s list of best small places for business and careers. It was the only small metro area in Colorado in the top 25.
Sioux Falls, S.D., topped the small-metro list. It was followed by Greenville, N.C., and Morgantown, W.Va.
