THORNTON — A man who allegedly took his wife hostage early Friday afternoon surrendered peacefully to Thornton SWAT officers just before 5 p.m. after a four-hour standoff.
The standoff occurred at a home in the 2600 block of Roosevelt Avenue. During the standoff, nearby homes were evacuated and schools placed on lockdown.
Matt Barnes, spokesman for the Thornton Police Department,said Roger Raymond Hoag walked out of the home at 4:52 p.m. and surrendered to a combined Thornton/Northglenn SWAT team.
Hoag has been arrested for investigation of domestic violence, felony menacing, false imprisonment and illegally discharging a firearm.
