COLORADO SPRINGS — A 22-year-old man has been arrested in a fatal shooting after a concert in Colorado Springs.
Terry Gaines Jr. was arrested south of Colorado Springs early Friday on Interstate 25 after state troopers ended a chase by putting down “stop sticks,” devices that blow out tires, Colorado Springs police said.
Gaines fled after a midnight shooting in which an unidentified man in his early 20s was killed in his car in a parking lot after a concert by San Francisco Bay-area rapper E-40.
E-40, whose name is Earl Stevens, is a popular musician from San Francisco. Colorado Springs police said Friday that they had extra security scheduled for the concert because of a late December incident in Denver in which five people were wounded outside a nightclub after E-40 performed.
