DENVER—Colorado’s ethics commission is meeting Monday, but there’s no guarantee the panel will have a decision in its first case, an ethics complaint against Rep. Mike Coffman.
The panel meets in Denver and expected to be close to a ruling on the Coffman complaint. However, the matter is not on the commission’s agenda.
Coffman is accused of improperly allowing an employee to operate a political side business while also working on state elections. Another complaint says he wrongly granted a contract for electronic voting machines.
Coffman has repeatedly said that the ethics complaints are unfounded political attacks.
It is unclear what sanctions beyond a censure the commission could give, as the Coffman case is the commission’s first.
