A 62-year-old man accused of pointing a handgun at an acquaintance on Sunday has been arrested by the Boulder sheriff’s department.

The suspect, Mark Steven Gesse, was booked for investigation of felony menacing, prohibited use of a weapon and harassment.

Investigators said that the incident allegedly occurred at Gesse’s home in the 400 block of Brooks Circle in the Pine Brook Hill subdivision west of Boulder.

A 911 caller, who telephoned dispatchers at 7:55 p.m., reported that Gesse had pointed a handgun at him but no shots were fired.

The victim and suspect knew each other prior to the incident, said the sheriff’s department.
