COMPTON, Calif. — A woman accused of running over her ex-boyfriend’s pregnant girlfriend with a sport utility vehicle was charged Tuesday with murdering the baby, who died after delivery.
The Los Angeles County district attorney’s office said Monica Mercado, 27, also was charged with attempting to murder the baby’s mother. The victim, who was eight months pregnant, was struck Sunday in Los Angeles.
