Tom Tesone, The Denver Post 1972 Gold Helmet winner, has had his physical education teaching position at Bishop Machebeuf cut by the archdiocese because of the economy. As a result, he resigned as Buffaloes head football coach after four years. The Buffs were 10-27 in Class 2A the past four seasons, but made significant strides at 5-5 in 2008. Tesone, 54, honored as Colorado’s top senior player, scholar and citizen 37 years ago, formerly assisted at 5A Cherry Creek, his alma mater, under his father, Fred Tesone.
