Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin won’t play tonight with a left rib cartilage strain, but he could play at the Lakers on Thursday.
At morning shootaround, coach George Karl said: “I think he’s going to try do some things today. I don’t think he’s going on the court, but he’s going to do some things to see where the pain is and how much pain he gets. I think he wants to play tomorrow, but I don’t think we’re going to force the issue.”
Karl insisted that Martin won’t be out for the year or anything extreme like that. Reserve forward Renaldo Balkman will start tonight for the Nuggets.
