In York, Pa., the 11th National Wrestling Coaches Association’s Brute National Scholastic Duals for underclassmen Friday-Saturday will include a team of Coloradans coached by Western State’s Miles Van Hee, Broomfield’s Travis Masse and Rifle’s John Wisniewski. Heading the team are 2009 champions Matthew Gurule, Class 5A Central (G.J.), 103 pounds; Zach Shank, 3A Olathe, 112; Joseph Martinez, 4A Greeley West, 119; Curtis Nelson, 5A Chaparral, 125; Cahlen Keys, 3A Centauri; 130; Matt Addington, 3A Florence, 152; and Bryce Kammerzall, 3A Eaton, 189. Also on tap are runners-up Nathanial Garcia, 4A Greeley West, 140; Kohlman Scribner, 4A Mountain View, 171; and Isaiah Churchwell, 2A Burlington, 215. Third-placers: Wyatt Barber, 2A Merino, 135; Nick Burghardt, 5A Coronado, 145; Kyle Platt, 3A Olathe, 160; and Scotland Coyle, 4A Longmont, heavyweight.
