DENVER—A Colorado congressman wants a House Homeland Security committee to investigate allegations that security screeners at Denver International Airport are intimidated and harassed by their supervisors.

U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter said in a letter this week asking for hearings on the matter that security screeners can’t do their jobs properly if the allegations are true. The screeners with the Transportation Security Administration told KUSA-TV that their managers subject them to harassment and that they play favorites.

KUSA-TV reported that police and complaint records document a case where someone pepper-sprayed employees.

The security screeners told the television station they can’t concentrate on their jobs because their work environment is so stressful.
