The reincarnation of the Salida Pole Pedal Paddle race returns for the second year Saturday, routing skiers, mountain bikers and kayakers from the top of Monarch Pass to the Boathouse Cantina in downtown Salida.
Individuals or teams of men and/or women are invited to enter the 7-mile ski, 18-mile mountain bike and 6-mile kayak race serving as a fundraiser for the Arkansas River Trust and increasing awareness of sustainable, human-powered recreation opportunities. Online registration remains open throughout the week, or register in person at the mandatory prerace meeting in Salida on Friday night. There is no race-day registration.
