Royal Gold Inc. closed a public offering in which it sold 6.5 million shares of common stock at $38 per share and has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase up to 975,000 additional shares of common stock to cover over-allotments, if any. Proceeds are expected to be about $235.3 million, assuming the over-allotment option is not exercised.

UAT Inc., a Denver-based technology and consulting company, in conjunction with Capital Markets Consulting LLC introduced the HiLo Engine, a software solution designed to enable pre- trade compliance, real-time regulatory oversight and significant brokerage-cost savings for investment platforms.

Altira Group LLC, a Denver-based venture-capital firm, announced two investments totaling $9 million. Altira invested $5.4 million in OPX Bioproducts, a developer of renewable, biorefined chemicals and fuels, and a follow-on investment of $3.6 million in Southwest Windpower, a maker of micro wind turbines.

UQM Technologies Inc., a Frederick-based developer of alternative-energy technologies, announced that a Dodge Caliber extended electric concept vehicle powered by a UQM propulsion system and generator will be unveiled next week by FEV Inc. at the 2009 SAE World Congress.

Maui Wowi Hawaiian, a Greenwood Village-based franchiser of Hawaiian coffees and smoothies, announced a strategic partnership to co-brand with Doc Popcorn, a Boulder- based retailer of flavored popcorn. The partnership allows Maui Wowi’s franchisees to sell Doc Popcorn.
