CUSTER, S.D.—The preliminary hearing has been rescheduled in Custer for a Denver police officer charged with shooting at three lawmen checking on her at a motel.

Thirty-one-year-old Kachina McAlexander of Aurora, Colo., is charged in a criminal complaint with three counts of attempted second-degree murder and three alternate counts of aggravated assault.

She was arrested March 24 at the Super 8 Motel in Custer and is out on bond.

Authorities say Highway Patrol Trooper Todd Albertson and Custer County deputies Frank Kistler and Derek Booker found McAlexander with a gun in her hand and she fired at them several times.

No one was hit.

The hearing to determine whether the case goes to trial had been scheduled for Tuesday but was delayed until April 28.
