An X-ray probe’s picture of a celestial “Hand,” 17,000 light-years from Earth, has stirred up spiritual responses around the world.
The Chandra X-Ray Observatory’s image of PSR B1509-58 shows a pulsar in the southern constellation Circinus. The pulsar’s energy drives streams of electrons and ions through the nebula surrounding the star, and in the pictures, those streams are shown in blue.
The blue streams of energy look like gigantic cosmic finger and the picture released on April 3 came to be called “the Hand of God.”

Four baby pythons escaped from a container aboard a passenger plane in Australia, leading to a search that forced the cancellation of two flights, the airline said Thursday.
Twelve nonvenemous Stimson pythons were being transported Tuesday on a flight from Alice Springs to Melbourne in the plane’s cargo area in a bag inside a plastic foam box with air holes.
When the flight landed, it was discovered that four snakes had escaped from the package, a Qantas spokeswoman said in a statement.
A reptile expert searched for the 6-inch-long snakes but did not find them. It was not known if the snakes were still on the plane or if they had somehow escaped outside after the plane landed.
In the meantime, the plane missed two flights it had been scheduled to fly, and the passengers were transferred to other flights.
Octomom application puts fun in fertility
Super Happy Fun Fun Inc., an Austin, Texas, company, filed a trademark notice in March to use the Octomom application for iPhones and other technology, CNN reports.
According to the cable news network, the company’s description of the game reads:
“Press down on Octomom’s swollen belly and another adorable bundle of joy will be brought into the world.”
“The babies must be caught by Octomom’s mother. Hold down on Octomom’s belly to charge, which shoots babies out faster and increases your chances of delivering twins! Tilt for better aim.
“Each baby earns welfare money. Having babies while the Paparazzi is in the room earns a cash bonus! Money is used to buy more fertility shots. Fertility shots let Octomom have more babies!”
