The Urban Land Institute’s Colorado District Council is partnering with the city and county of Denver to create the Real Estate Diversity Initiative.

Supported by a $20,000 action grant from the ULI Foundation, the initiative will pair up to 50 participants with ULI developer mentors to learn firsthand what development entails. The effort is aimed at increasing participation of women and minorities in real estate development.

During the nine-month program, the groups of eight to 10 participants will meet monthly with the mentors, either at the developer’s office or on a project site.

The cost for participants is $100, and those selected must commit to 100 percent participation, which includes a monthly meeting with the mentor and other participants.

Upon completion, each participant receives a certificate and membership in ULI Colorado.

Applications are available at or by calling ULI Colorado at 303-893-1760.
