MADRID — Spanish officials said Sunday that the arrest of a man suspected of leading the Basque separatist group ETA was a severe blow to the group and vowed to capture whoever becomes its next leader. The French police arrested Jurdan Martitegi Lizaso near the southern French city of Perpignan on Saturday. Martitegi is the fourth ETA military chief to be arrested since last May.
