Highway crews are clearing away three rockslides this evening, all brought on by the recent snow, cold and today’s warmth.

Boulder County Road 7 south is closed between Lyons and Allenspark.

U.S. 34 about 11 miles east of Estes Park is closed for a rock slide, and U.S. 285 over Kenosha Pass is currently closed for the same reason.

No one has been injured.

The Colorado Department of Transportation expects to clear all three this evening, after the slides occured about dusk.

CDOT spokeswoman Stacey Stegman said spring and fall are typical times for rock slides in Colorado, but the freeze-thaw cycle, as well as increased moisture from the rapid snow melt, play a role in tumblers.
