A critically injured 19-year-old man, who later died at Longmont United Hospital, is believed to have been murdered, according to Longmont investigators.

Police were called to the 1800 block of Atwood Street in Longmont at about 11 p.m. Monday after the man was found with stab wounds.

The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died a short time later, police said.

He was identified by the Boulder coroner’s office as Logan Cameron Steele Sisson of Longmont.

Longmont police are looking for a 1997 black and red Geo Tracker seen leaving the area. Two men and two women were in the vehicle.

Tim Lewis, commander of detectives at the Longmont Police Department, said the case is “unique.”

Preliminary investigations show that Sisson had been involved in a number of altercations in the 24 hours before his death.

“We are trying to determine who he made the maddest,” said Lewis. Numerous interviews are currently underway, he said.

A witness told police that Sisson, who Lewis said was known to Longmont police and had done county jail time, had been involved in a fight with the group.

Lewis said the fight was not gang-related, however. There were no active warrants out for Sisson, said Lewis.

According to court records, Sisson has had numerous brushes with the law.

On March 30, Sisson pleaded guilty to misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and was given two years probation and ordered to serve 24 hours of community service. On March 27, 2008, he was given a two year deferred sentence to a charge of felony menacing. In July 2008, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft under $500 and was sentenced to five days in jail. In December 2008, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft under $500 and was credited for three days time served.
