YORBA LINDA, Calif. — Three small earthquakes have rattled California’s Orange County area in just a few hours but no damage was immediately reported. The first quake struck at 4:56 p.m. Thursday and was centered 2 miles northeast of Yorba Linda.
Its magnitude was estimated at 3.8. Then the U.S. Geological Survey says a magnitude-4.0 quake occurred at 8:27 p.m. and a 3.0 tremor followed less than a minute later.
