The Broncos stayed with the defense theme in the second round, choosing Texas Tech defensive back Darcel McBath with their second pick in Round Two, No. 48 overall.

McBath, 6-feet and 198 pounds, made seven interceptions in 2008 to lead the Big 12 Conference. He also had seven pass breakups.

Earlier, Denver dealt its 2010 first-round pick to obtain another second-round pick in this draft. The Broncos took Wake Forest cornerback Alphonso Smith at No. 5 of the second round, the 37th choice overall.

McBath has been listed in predraft material as both a safety and cornerback.
