An Aurora woman is dead after she ran her sport utility vehicle onto a sidewalk and then overcorrected, sending her GMC Envoy tumbling late Saturday.
Sophia Hofer, 44, wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected when her vehicle rolled near East Yale Avenue and South Elkhart Street, according to a Aurora Police Department press release.
Hofer, who was alone in the GMC, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Alcohol was not suspected as a contributing factor in the accident.
The rollver was the fourth fatal accident this year that the Aurora Police Traffic Section has investigated.
