Organizers are compiling final numbers, but the mild sunny weather and advance registrations leads them to believe the 27th annual Cherry Creek Sneak this morning attracted more than 10,000 participants for the four races.
The first starting gun went off at 8 a.m. for the 3.1-mile walk-run. A 1-mile Student Sprint and a 1/2-mile Sneak Fun Run for kids followed, with the 5-mile event at 9 a.m.
All races started at Steele and Ellsworth, just outside the Cherry Creek mall.
The annual event supports the Colorado Governor’s Council for Physical Fitness.
