Emergency workers rescued a woman this morning who had fallen into a crevice on Old Man Mountain near Estes Park and spent eight hours there.

The woman, who is in her early 20s and has not been identified, was with a friend when she fell into the the fissure, said Larimer County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Eloise Campanella.

She was taken to Estes Park Medical Center.

“She was really stuck in there, but in the last few minutes they got her out,” said Campanella.

The woman’s friend reported the accident at about 12:45 a.m. Rescue workers suspect the woman fell while she was walking on slippery rocks, she added.
