The biggest bust of the 2009 NFL draft? It’s early, but Kansas City Star columnist Jason Whitlock nominated a former coach giving it a try as an analyst: Herman Edwards. “Herm Edwards, the rookie ESPN analyst and fondly regarded as the Human Sound Bite as an NFL head coach, turned in a disastrous and distracting performance during the two-day NFL draft,” Whitlock wrote. “Edwards was so bad that my sources in Dallas reported that Emmitt Smith could be heard shouting, ‘I would’ve have did a better job!’ ” Still, it makes you wonder if Whitlock saw what the Raiders did over the weekend.
