FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Dr. Lawrence Goodridge, an assistant professor at the Center for Meat Safety and Quality at Colorado State University, has been awarded a $1.7 million federal grant for research aimed at improving food safety.

The funding, from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, will go toward developing an integrated system to monitor agricultural water used in vegetable production for the presence of harmful food-borne pathogens.
