Frontier Airlines, which has been working its way out of protective bankruptcy for the last year, today reported its second consecutive quarterly net profit.

In its unaudited monthly operating report for March, the Denver-based carrier reported a consolidated operating profit of $20.7 million and a total consolidated net loss of $129.9 million.

Excluding special items,Frontier reported an operating profit of $16.7 million and a net profit of $15.2 million for the month.

Special items for March included $149 million in reorganization expenses and non-cash mark-to-market gains on fuel hedge contracts of $4 million.
