Hey, Dodgers fans. What a deal your team has for you beginning Thursday!
The Associated Press reported Tuesday that Los Angeles Dodgers fans will be able to sit in “Mannywood,” a section of seats in left field at Dodger Stadium named in honor of the team’s left fielder.
For the bargain price of $99, fans can purchase a pair of field-level seats, located on the fair side of the foul pole and closest to Ramirez’s playing position. But that’s not all: Fans also get Mannywood T-shirts. The price represents Ramirez’s jersey number. On May 5, in celebration of Cinco de Mayo, fans who purchase tickets in Ramirez’s seating section will receive a limited edition T-shirt with the Spanish phrase “Yo estuve en Mannywood,” which means “I was in Mannywood.”
No matter which language you speak, the question has to be asked: Why would anyone pay $99 to watch Ramirez attempt to play left field? Now, paying $99 to watch him hit from up close, that would be a bargain.
