A woman accused of firing a handgun at sheriff’s deputies in South Dakota is no longer a member of the Denver Police Department, Denver police told 9News.
Kachina McAlexander submitted her resignation April 19. McAlexander, 31, was a 10-year veteran of the department.
Authorities say she shot at local deputies while in a motel in Custer, S.D., on March 24. No one was hit.
On Tuesday, 9News also reported that a judge dismissed the attempted-murder charges against McAlexander. She still faces three counts of aggravated assault.
